Afrobeats Medley with Brandy and 21 Savage at 2024 Grammys performed by Burna Boy

Burna Boy has created a lasting legacy at the Recording Academy!

He became the first-ever Afrobeats artist to perform at the annual Grammy Awards ceremony, which took place on Sunday, 2024. The Nigerian musician, who is 32 years old, was accompanied by both Brandy and 21 Savage during his performance at the Grammy Awards this year.

A performance of “Sittin’ on Top of the World,” a track by Burna Boy from 2023 that features 21 Savage, who is 31 years old, was given by the three artists throughout the course of the program. Notable samples are taken from Brandy’s popular song “Top of the World,” which was released in 1998 and featured Mase.

Burna Boy began his performance by singing his song “On Form” while accompanied by dancers dressed in what appeared to be traditional Nigerian costume.

He wore a red jacket with silver diamonds underneath it, and he combined it with light blue jeans that matched. He then proceeded to play his big hit “City Boys” while the stage was illuminated with colors and he danced with a lot of enthusiasm.

The announcement of the trio’s performance was initially confirmed by Raj Kapoor, who is the executive producer of the Grammy Awards, on Rolling Stone Music Now before the beginning of this week.

Although 21 Savage was arrested by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement prior to the event, Post Malone performed “Rockstar” in 2019. 21 Savage was not present for the performance.

During the Grammy Awards, the rapper’s mother was able to attend the event since she was handed tickets in his place. As a result of the “targeted operation” regarding Savage’s visa, his attorney informed People in 2023 that Savage has since accomplished the status of a “lawful permanent resident” in the United States.
