Adan Canto, a Mexican singer and actor who was most known for his appearances in “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “Agent Game” as well as the television series “The Cleaning Lady,” has passed away. He was 42 years old.

In an interview with The Associated Press, publicist Jennifer Allen stated that Canto had chosen to keep his sickness a secret and that he had passed away from appendiceal cancer.

“Adan possessed a profound spirit that only a select few were actually aware of. According to what Allen wrote in a statement, “those who caught a glimpse of it were changed forever.” “He will be greatly missed by a great number of people.”

Although Canto was born in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, and raised in Texas, he embarked on his career at the age of sixteen, when he left his family home to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter in Mexico City.

After that, he started pursuing a career in acting, and he made his debut on television in the Mexican series “Estado de Gracia” in 2009.

Later on, he made his debut in the United States of America in the drama series “The Following,” which was produced by Kevin Williamson and aired on Fox in 2013.

Aaron Shore, the Vice President-elect, appeared on the television show “Designated Survivor,” Rodrigo Lara Bonilla, a politician from Colombia, appeared on the television show “Narcos,” and he played the mutant Sunspot in the film “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

Both “Agent Game” and “Bruised,” which was Halle Berry’s first film as a filmmaker, featured Canto in starring roles.

Additionally, in 2014, he directed his first short film, and in 2020, he will make his second short film, which will be a daring western starring Theo Rossi.

During the time of his passing, Canto was playing the role of Armand Morales on the Fox television show “The Cleaning Lady,” which is now in the process of filming its third season. Due to his illness, he was unable to take part in the play; however, he had high hopes of attending the show again later in the season.

Canto wore a broad smile and laughed loudly; he was filled with joy. Despite having a large body and a square jaw, his acquaintances remarked that he possessed a sensitivity and humility that could appear to be in contrast to the characteristics of a leading man.

The actor Kiefer Sutherland, who appeared on the television show “Designated Survivor” alongside Canto, paid tribute to the late actor on his Instagram page.

“It seems that I have been required to make an excessive number of posts similar to this one as of late, but I am utterly devastated by the passing of Adan Canto. Sutherland said in a statement that accompanied a photograph of the two of them working together on set that “He was such a wonderful spirit.”

In the field of acting, his aspiration to achieve success, to achieve greatness, and then to achieve even greater success was absolutely remarkable, and he will be sorely missed. The loss of his wife, Steph, and their two young children is another thing that breaks my heart. I pray that you, Adan, find eternal rest.

Canto’s wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and their two children, Roman Alder, who is three years old, and Eve Josephine, who is 18 months old, make up his survivors.
