A medical emergency caused Amanda Hanson, who was 38 years old and oversaw the digital desk crew at Action News 5 in Memphis, to pass away. Her death was the result of complications from the event.

Through a statement that was published on its website on Thursday, the station revealed that she had passed away.

“It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the passing of our colleague Amanda Hanson. During the year 2021, Amanda, a well-liked journalist, Memphis resident, coworker, and friend, became a member of the Action News 5 team. She was the primary impetus behind the establishment of the Action News 5 Digital Desk.

“With her own boundless supply of energy and creativity, she labored tirelessly behind the scenes to build that coverage,” the author writes.

In the year 2021, Hanson, who was born and raised in Memphis, relocated back to her hometown in the role of Leader of Digital Innovation. She had only lately tied the knot.

It was reported by the station that she had previously held positions at KAIT in Arkansas from the years 2010 to 2015 and again from 2018 to 2021.
