Cat Deeley – Catherine Elizabeth Deeley is a British television presenter as well as an actress. She was born on October 23, 1976 in England. She began her career as a co-presenter for the ITV children’s show SMTV Live, for which she was awarded a BAFTA Children’s Award, and its spin-off chart show CD:UK (1998–2005). During this time, she was also nominated for a BAFTA Children’s Award. In 2003, she hosted the singing competition show Fame Academy on BBC One.

The following year, she became the host of the singing competition show Stars in Their Eyes on ITV, a role she held until 2005. So You Think You Can Dance is a dance competition show that Deeley has been hosting in the United States since 2006. For her work on the show, she has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy five times.

Cat Deeley Career

  • At the age of 14, Deeley competed in a regional round of a BBC competition for The Clothes Show. She advanced all the way to the national finals of the competition. She was signed as a model under her moniker of “Cat” in order to make it simpler for customers to re-book her services.
  • In 1997, she walked away from the world of full-time fashion modeling as a result of modifications to her contract with Storm. Following that, she became a co-host on the MTV chart show Hitlist UK alongside her longtime friend Edith Bowman.
  • She co-hosted the Saturday morning children’s program SM:TV Live with Ant & Dec from 1998 to 2002, and she also hosted the spin-off programs CD:UK (1998–2005) and CD:UK Hotshots. Both of these programs aired from 1998 until 2002.                                                                                         
  • She was featured on an episode of the BBC show Happiness in 2001, the same year that she was honored with a Children’s BAFTA award. In 2002, Deeley was featured in a commercial for Marks and Spencer that was broadcast on television.
  • Deeley conducted an interview with Kylie Minogue in 2003 for a television special on her one-off concert titled Money Can’t Buy. The special was aired in the United Kingdom on ITV on November 22, 2003, and in Australia on Network Ten on November 24, 2003.
  • She made a guest appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly on the 18th of August, 2011, filling in for Kelly.
  • She returned to her role as co-host of Live with Regis and Kelly on January 26, 2012, alongside Kelly Ripa. On the episode of America’s Next Top Model Season 18 that aired on March 14, 2012, she served as a guest judge.
  • The celebrity dating game program The Choice, which she hosted on Fox and which debuted on June 7, 2012 and ran until July 12, 2012 in the United States, was called “The Choice.”
  • Deeley appeared on Lorraine as a guest host for the Easter holidays in April 2021, and she returned for the May spring bank holiday show.
  • Random House released Deeley’s debut book, a children’s picture book titled The Joy in You, on September 15, 2020. The book was written for young readers. Rosie Butcher is responsible for the illustrations, and she and Laura Baker collaborated on the writing of the book.
  • The following is the conclusion that was reached by a Kirkus reviewer after reading the book: “The message is wholehearted and positive, but the cloying execution doesn’t stand out.”
  • As part of her acting career, Deeley had a cameo appearance in the sixth episode of Life’s Too Short, playing the role of herself. In addition, she had a cameo appearance as herself in the second episode of House of Lies, which aired in January of 2012.
  • In the television series Deadbeat, which aired on Hulu in 2015, she made her debut as a leading actress playing the role of Camomile White, a celebrity medium. In addition, Deeley provided the voice for a character based on herself in an episode of The Simpsons titled “Waiting for Duffman” that aired in 2015.
  • On November 9, 2023, it was revealed that Deeley would be taking over as the host of This Morning, succeeding Holly Willoughby, who had stepped down from her position after a failed kidnapping attempt.
