Catherine Tate – Catherine Tate is a stage name used professionally by Catherine Jane Ford, who was born in England on 5 December 1969. Tate is an British actress, comedian, and writer. She was nominated for an International Emmy Award and seven BAFTAs in addition to winning a number of prizes for her work on the BBC sketch comedy series The Catherine Tate Show, which she starred in during that time period.

Tate first appeared as Donna Noble in the Doctor Who Christmas special of 2006, and she went on to play the part again in the fourth series of the show in 2008 as well as the 60th anniversary episodes in 2023.

Tate went on to star as Joanie Taylor (also known as “Nan”) in the BBC One comedy series Catherine Tate’s Nan and in the film The Nan Movie after the success of The Catherine Tate Show.

Catherine Tate Career

  • Tate was a member of the cast of the National Youth Theatre production of Blood Wedding, which also starred Daniel Craig and Jessica Hynes, and it toured the country from 1988 to 1990. In the year 1994, she was cast as Lydia Lubey in the production of All My Sons by Arthur Miller that was put on by the Oxford Stage Company.
