  • Aguilera participated in an audition for a role on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club (MMC), which was broadcast on the Disney Channel in the year 1991. She competed against four hundred other candidates, and despite the fact that she made it into the shortlist, she was ultimately disqualified because she did not satisfy the minimum age requirement.
  • In the following year, 1992, Aguilera received a phone call from one of the show’s producers who inquired as to whether or not she was still interested in becoming a “Mouseketeer.”
  • Aguilera gave the world its first taste of her music in May of 1999 with the release of “Genie in a Bottle,” the lead single off her long-awaited debut album. “Genie in a Bottle” dominated the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a total of five weeks, making it the year’s second best-selling single.   • Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera started the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards with a performance of “Like a Virgin” and “Hollywood” respectively in August 2003. Aguilera sang with Spears.
