In her first competition of 2019, she competed alongside Ann Li and finished in second place in the doubles competition at the $100,000 Midland Tennis Classic.

Gauff competed in her next event, which was worth $25,000, and she made it all the way to the finals in both the singles and doubles competitions. She was the runner-up in the singles competition and won her first WTA championship partnering Paige Hourigan in the doubles competition. Her maiden victory on the WTA circuit came in March at the Miami Open, where she prevailed over Caty McNally.

She was eliminated from the French Open qualifying competition after the second round. She was victorious at Wimbledon, taking down Aliona Bolsova as well as Greet Minnen. After qualifying at the age of 15 years and 3 months, Gauff established a new record for the youngest player to make it into the main draw at Wimbledon during the Open Era. In her first match in the main draw, she defeated Venus Williams in straight sets, who is a five-time Wimbledon champion.

She prevailed in her matches against Magdaléna Rybáriková and No. 60 Polona Hercog, in the latter of which she averted two match points. As a result of the excitement surrounding her victory in her first round encounter, her third round match was moved to Centre Court. She was knocked out of the competition after suffering a defeat in the fourth round at the hands of eventual winner Simona Halep.
