Corey Seager – Corey Drew Seager is an American professional baseball shortstop who currently plays for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on April 27, 1994 in the United States. In his past life, he was a Major League Baseball player with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Seager was selected by the Dodgers in the first round of the Major League Baseball Draft in 2012, and he made his debut in the major leagues in 2015. In his debut year in the major leagues, he was named the Rookie of the Year for the National League (NL), and he was selected for the All-Star team both of his first two years in the majors.

While guiding the Los Angeles Dodgers to victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2020 World Series, he was recognized as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of both the National League Championship Series and the World Series.

Corey Seager Career

  • During the 2012 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft, the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB) picked Seager as the 18th overall player in the first round of the draft. Instead of enrolling at the University of South Carolina, he decided to join with the Los Angeles Dodgers and collect a signing bonus of $2.35 million.
  • Seager started his career in the major leagues with the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League in 2012, where he had a batting average of.309 over the course of 46 games. In 2013, he was given a promotion to play for the Great Lakes Loons, who are part of the Class A Midwest League.
  • Seager was elevated to the Class AAA Pacific Coast League (PCL) level with the Oklahoma City Dodgers on the first day of the month of May in 2015. Seager had a home run and six runs batted in during a game that took place on May 28 against the Salt Lake Bees.                                             
  • He also got six hits in six at-bats. Only two other players in the history of the Oklahoma City club have accomplished this feat in a single game. He was the second.
  • Seager was called up to the main leagues by the Dodgers on September 3, 2015, and he made his major league debut that same night against the San Diego Padres. He started at shortstop for the Dodgers.
  • At the end of the regular season in 2020, Seager had participated in 51 out of 60 games and had a batting line of.307/.358/.585. He topped the Dodgers in batting average, slugging percentage, hits (65), doubles (12), and runs batted in (41) among all Dodgers batters who qualified for the category.
  • Seager reached the century mark in his home run career on September 26, 2021, when he did it against Humberto Meja, a pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
  • He finished the 2022 season with a batting line of.245/.317/.455 and the lowest called-strike percentage of any batter in the major leagues (9.0%). Despite the fact that his batting average was the lowest in his career.245, he did smash a career-high 33 home runs despite his batting average.
  • In 2023, he had a batting line of.327/.390/.623 and hit 33 home runs. Additionally, he topped the American League in the proportion of balls that were hit hard (48.4%).
