David Walliams Biography

David WalliamsDavid Edward Williams is an English comedian, actor, writer, and television personality. He was born on August 20, 1971. He is known professionally as David Walliams. His partnership with Matt Lucas on the BBC sketch comedy programs Little Britain and Come Fly With Me is mostly responsible for his widespread recognition. 

Walliams served as a judge on the talent competition show broadcast on ITV known as Britain’s Got Talent from the years 2012 through 2022. In addition, he is a writer of novels for children, of which there have been more than 37 million copies sold all over the world.

David Walliams Family, Relationship and Afair

1971 saw the arrival of Walliams at the St. Teresa’s Maternity Hospital in Wimbledon, which is located in the London Borough of Merton. Peter Williams, an engineer for London Transport, and Kathleen Williams, a laboratory technician who worked at Sutton Grammar School, are his parents. He is the son of Peter Williams.

Walliams’ father, Peter, passed away in 2007 from a particularly aggressive form of liver cancer.

Walliams started a relationship with the Dutch model Lara Stone in the year 2009. They announced their engagement on January 20, 2010, shortly after her parents had shown their approval of the relationship. Claridge’s Hotel in the heart of London played host to the couple’s wedding ceremony on May 16th, 2010. Stone gave birth to the couple’s child on May 6th, 2013, and they named him Alfred.

It was reported on March 4, 2015 that the couple, who had been married for five years but had “drifted apart,” had chosen to try a trial separation after five years of marriage. Walliams submitted her petition for divorce from Stone on September 9, 2015, citing “unreasonable behavior” as the reason.

David Walliams Career

  • Walliams gave a performance in the Doctor Who audio play Phantasmagoria, which was produced by Big Finish Productions in 1999 and written by Mark Gatiss. Walliams, Simon Pegg, Lucy Davis, and Lauren Laverne were all featured in the music video for Charlotte Hatherley’s single “Bastardo” that was released in 2005.
  • Later on in the year, David Walliams gave a presentation titled David Walliams: My Life with James Bond, which was a documentary on James Bond. In 2007, he made his comeback to non-comedy television, and his performance in Stephen Poliakoff’s Capturing Mary, in which he played a smooth-talking but dangerous manipulator, was met with widespread critical acclaim.
  • Walliams had a guest appearance as Rupert Baxter, an efficiency expert hired to work as Lord Emsworth’s secretary, in two episodes of the British comedy series Blandings in the year 2013.         
  • In addition, in 2013, Walliams starred in the BBC One sitcom Big School, which he had produced and co-written, playing the role of chemistry teacher Keith Church. This role continued through 2014.
  • Walliams started filming for his BBC sketch show Walliams & Friend in September of 2015, which also starred Joanna Lumley and Morgana Robinson. The show’s premiere was on Christmas Eve in 2015, and it was broadcast on the BBC. In November 2016, the show made its long-awaited return with a brand-new season.
  • In 2017, Walliams and Rochelle Humes were both confirmed as Voice Trumpets, joining the ensemble that already included Daniel Rigby, Antonia Thomas, Jim Broadbent, Fearne Cotton, and Jane Horrocks. Walliams and Humes also joined the cast in 2017.
  • In the second season of the updated version of the iconic children’s television show Teletubbies that airs in the United Kingdom.
  • Walliams was announced in October 2019 to take over for Dermot O’Leary as the host of the National Television Awards in 2020. O’Leary had held the position for the previous ten years.
  • Walliams secured a contract with HarperCollins at the beginning of 2008 to have two children’s books published by the company. On November 1, 2008, the debut novel, The Boy in the Dress, illustrated by Quentin Blake, was made available in countries all over the world.
  • Robodog, his most recent work of children’s fiction, was released into circulation on April 5th, 2023. Robodog, the newest student at the police dog school, is the protagonist of this novel. He is tasked with rescuing his city from the clutches of some nefarious villains who are intent on destroying it.
