Ed Sheeran – Edward Christopher Sheeran is a British singer and songwriter. He was born on February 17, 1991 in England. He was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, but he spent his childhood in Framlingham, Suffolk, and he started writing songs when he was around eleven years old. At the beginning of 2011, Sheeran released the extended play No. 5 Collaborations Project under his own independent label. In the same year, he became a member of the Asylum Records roster.

Sheeran’s first studio album, titled + (sometimes spelled “Plus”), was released in September 2011 and immediately climbed to the top of the UK Albums Chart. The hit single “The A Team” was included on the album. In 2012, Sheeran was awarded both the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act and the Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist.

Ed Sheeran Career

  • Sheeran started making music in 2004, and at the age of thirteen, he released his first collection of work under his own name, titled Spinning Man.[A] Since he was 15 years old, he has been acquainted with another English singer by the name of Passenger, and the two of them played the same gig in Cambridge.
  • After moving to London in 2008, he immediately started playing at local pubs and clubs. In the year 2008, he participated in the casting process for the ITV series Britannia High.
  • Sheeran released another independent EP on January 8, 2011, titled No. 5 Collaborations Project. This EP featured grime musicians such as Wiley, Jme, Devlin, Sway, and Ghetts.                                 
  • On the episode of the BBC music show Later… with Jools Holland that aired on April 26, 2011, Ed Sheeran made an appearance and sang his breakthrough single “The A Team.” Six weeks after its first release, “The A Team” was made available in the UK as a digital download.
  • On September 12, 2011, Sheeran released the album +. The album was met with mostly positive critiques from members of the music press, and it made its debut at number one on the UK Albums Chart with sales of 102,000 copies.
  • Sheeran had a performance at the Teenage Cancer Trust charity concert held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 24 March 2014. During his set, he debuted the song “Take It Back,” which was destined to be included on the deluxe edition of the second album.
  • Sheeran contributed the song “Love Yourself” to Justin Bieber’s fourth studio album in the year 2015. Sheeran had intended to include the song on his third studio album, but he later stated that he would have abandoned the track if it hadn’t been for the fact that Bieber had already recorded it.
  • It was announced on January 3, 2018, that “Shape of You” had been awarded the title of best-selling single in the UK for 2017 and best-selling hit in the US for 2017 according to the Billboard Hot 100.
  • Sheeran and Taylor Swift collaborated on a version of “The Joker and the Queen” that was published as a duet on February 11, 2022. On March 4th, he was included in the song “Bam Bam,” which was Camila Cabello and his second collaboration together. In the latter part of that month, he worked together with J Balvin, a singer from Colombia, on the tracks “Sigue” and “Forever My Love.”
  • On March 1, 2023, Sheeran made the formal announcement across all of his social media platforms that the release date for his sixth studio album, titled – (“Subtract”), will be May 5, 2023.
  • Sheeran revealed his second album of the year, Autumn Variations, in August 2023. The album was scheduled to be released on September 29th, 2023. It is his first studio album to be released through Gingerbread Man Records, as well as his first album overall, and he is the owner of the copyright for that record.
