FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup 2023: Puerto Rico and the United States of America win gold

In the men’s division, Puerto Rico ended the tournament with a magnificent victory over Brazil, which they won by a score of 14 to 18. This victory caused the home fans to come alive with excitement.

Antonio Ralat made two free throws at the end of the game to knock Brazil out of the game and put the game out of their reach. Adrian Ocasio was instrumental in preventing their opponents from gaining the upper hand in terms of strength.

With nine points, Angel Matias was the star of the show in the championship game, which resulted in his team winning their first gold medal in the competition. Not only did he finish as the top scorer with 40 points, but he also won the Most Valuable Player title.

Alongside Brayan Manuel Almonte of the Dominican Republic, who scored 26 points and led his team to victory in bronze, he was the leader of the Men’s Team of the Tournament. Jonatas Mello of Brazil, who scored 35 points, was the other member of the team that brought home the silver medal.

In the final of the women’s division, the United States of America performed exceptionally well against Brazil. They had a perfect record of 4-0 on their route to the championship match, where they would meet a Brazilian team that was just as dominant.

Despite the fact that the score was tied at the beginning of the match, Brazil gradually began to pull away with a significant lead. Despite having a 13-19 advantage, the United States of America managed to come back and win because to the efforts of Katie Lou Samuelson and Kelsey Mitchell.
