Holly Willoughby Career

Willoughby was successful in his audition for S Club TV, which was broadcast on CITV and starred members of S Club 7. Actors on this show portrayed an alternate version of the S Club. She also participated in a show called S Club 7: Artistic Differences, in which she played the role of Zoe alongside the band’s regular members. Willoughby initially held the position of receptionist at the now-defunct retail channel Auction World TV, and later moved on to work there in the capacity of runner.

Willoughby also began doing menial jobs while also enrolling in a psychotherapy study through the Open University. After some time, she was able to get employment as an assistant manager, and it was during this time that she convinced a friend to create a showreel of her. This resulted in her being represented by an agency, who subsequently approached the BBC.

Willoughby went on to host numerous additional children’s shows for CBBC, including X-perimental and CBBC at the Fame Academy (CBBC’s equivalent of the BBC talent show Fame Academy). Xchange was a factual entertainment program for children that Willoughby presented later in 2002.

When Holly Willoughby returned to CITV in 2004, she was asked to co-host the children’s variety show Ministry of Mayhem, which was shown on Saturday mornings. This was her first job in the field of children’s entertainment. During this presentation, she became acquainted with Dan Baldwin, one of the producers of the show, who would later become her future husband.

The show’s co-hosts, Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern, are two of the most well-known people in the United Kingdom, so in 2006, the name of the program was altered to Holly & Stephen’s Saturday Showdown to better reflect their success.

In 2006, she was selected to co-present the television show Dancing on Ice alongside Phillip Schofield. The show has celebrities being paired with professional dancers in order to learn ice-dancing routines, which are then reviewed by a panel of experts and voted on by audiences at home. Willoughby continued to serve in the capacity until 2011, despite taking on other responsibilities. Christine Lampard has taken her position in the team.
