X, which was formerly known as Twitter, experienced significant disruptions on Thursday, which were reported by thousands of users worldwide, including those in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and India.

Customers who were using the mobile app or the website were getting a message that stated “Welcome to X” on their feed rather than the typical tweets that they would normally see.

According to information obtained from Downdetector.com, since 5.30 a.m. GMT, there have been over 70,000 reports of problems on the platform from users located in a variety of countries. The number of user reports reached its highest point at approximately 5.50 a.m. GMT.

Individuals who subscribed to the blue tick premium subscription service offered by the site, known as X Pro, were also experiencing problems, as their feeds displayed the phrase “Waiting for posts.”

X looked to be returning to normal for some users as of seven o’clock in the morning GMT.

Uncertainty persisted on the cause of the worldwide power outage. There was no quick response from X to the request for comment that was made by The Independent.

The site has been experiencing a significant outage on multiple occasions throughout the course of this year.

Multiple instances of widespread technical issues have been experienced by the microblogging platform that is owned by the multibillionaire Elon Musk. These issues have occurred on multiple occasions, including in March, July, and most recently.

A significant outage occurred at X in March, not long after the company had completed a round of layoffs that resulted in the departure of more than 200 employees.

The users of the website were presented with what appeared to be a welcome page during this outage. It appeared as though they were not yet following anyone on the platform.

“Welcome to the world of Twitter! You will find the most up-to-date information about what is going on in your world here. The message stated, “Now is the time to come up with some people and topics to follow.”

Numerous users expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that they were unable to use X in a typical manner, citing difficulties in accessing links, photographs, and videos on the website.

Another outage occurred in July, and thousands of people stated that they were unable to retrieve their tweets, that their timelines were missing, and that their followers had vanished.

After Mr. Elon Musk said that the site would be imposing temporary reading limits for users, the number of posts that users could read was increased to 8,000 for verified accounts, 800 for unverified accounts, and 400 for new unverified accounts.

Many users of X were either unable to log in to their accounts or were unable to connect to the internet at all during the more recent outage that occurred in October.

Those that were able to log in and view postings on their feed said that tweets were either missing or not displaying correctly. Additionally, some users discovered that just retweets appeared to be affected by the issue.
