Jake Elliott Career

  • Between the years 2013 and 2016, Elliott was a student at Memphis and participated in the college football program there. During his time at Memphis, he was coached by Justin Fuente, Darrell Dickey, and Mike Norvell, who were all the team’s head coaches.
  • Elliott’s intention to participate in the 2017 NFL Draft was made public on February 9, 2017, when the announcement was made.
  • Elliott was chosen by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft (153rd overall). He was the first kicker chosen out of the three that were available in 2017. He battled it out with veteran Randy Bullock for the starting position of kicker for the Bengals.
  • On September 2, 2017, the team made the announcement that Bullock had been selected for the position, and Elliott was let go. The next day, he was given a spot on the team’s practice squad after being re-signed.
  • After the Eagles’ primary kicker, Caleb Sturgis, was placed on injured reserve on September 12, 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Elliott off of the Bengals’ practice squad. Elliott had been with the Bengals since 2016
  • Elliott was successful in 26 of his 31 tries at field goals and 33 of his 35 efforts at extra points during the 2018 season.
  • Elliott had the least productive season of his career in 2020, making only 19 attempts at field goals and 26 attempts at extra points, but he was successful in converting 73.7 percent of those attempts. This was due, in part, to the fact that Head Coach Doug Pederson took a more aggressive approach on 4th downs and 2-point conversions.
  • Clinched the NFC East championship and was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Week 18 of the 2022 season against the Giants, in which he kicked a perfect six-for-six on field goal attempts.
  • Elliott advanced to the Super Bowl for the second time in his career as the Philadelphia Eagles won the National Football Conference Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers. Elliott was successful with both of his field goal attempts in the Super Bowl, but the Eagles were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35.
  • Elliott was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against the Patriots in Week 1 of the 2023 season. Elliott had a total of 13 points on the board, including four field goals, and guided the Cowboys to a 25-20 victory over New England.
