Justin Fields – Justin Skyler Fields is an American football quarterback. He was born on March 5, 1999. He currently plays for the Chicago Bears, who are members of the National Football League (NFL). In the years that followed his time at Georgia, he went on to play collegiate football at Ohio State.

During his time at Ohio State, he was honored with the Graham–George Offensive Player of the Year award on two separate occasions and led the Buckeyes to the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2021.  

Fields was selected by the Bears in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. During his time with the Bears, he established a new record for the most quarterback rushing yards in a single game during the regular season.

Justin Fields Career

  • The Chicago Bears made a trade with the New York Giants in order to acquire the 20th overall pick, their fifth-round pick in 2021, and their first and fourth-round picks in 2022. Fields was taken by the Chicago Bears with the eleventh overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft.
  • One of the five quarterbacks selected in the first round, Fields was considered to be one of the best prospects in the draft. On June 10, 2021, he signed his rookie deal, which was valued $18.8 million and was fully guaranteed. The contract was for four years.
  • While Fields was given the position of second-string quarterback behind Andy Dalton, he made his debut in the National Football League during the first game of the season against the Los Angeles Rams.                                                                                                                   
  • He participated in four plays throughout the game. In the game that they lost 34–14, he scored a touchdown on the ground by rushing for five yards and completed two throws for ten yards. After Dalton sustained a knee injury during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2, Fields entered the game in the third quarter to take over for Dalton.

  • During the sixth week of the season, Fields had a disastrous performance against the Minnesota Vikings. He was under constant pressure and only completed six of his ten attempts for 58 yards and an interception. Additionally, he was sacked four times.
  • In the early stages of the third quarter, Fields suffered a dislocation of his shoulder and thumb while being sacked by Danielle Hunter.
