Kelly Clarkson Biography

Kelly Clarkson – Kelly Brianne, better known by her stage name Kelly Clarkson, was born in the United States on April 24, 1982. She is a professional singer, songwriter, author, and television personality. Her victory on the first season of American Idol in 2002 propelled her to the forefront of the entertainment industry and landed her a recording contract with RCA Records. Her first track, “A Moment Like This,” topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and went on to become the most successful single in the country in 2002.

It was included on her first studio album, Thankful, which was released in 2003 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. In an effort to modernize her public persona, Kelly Clarkson severed ties with the management team behind American Idol and adopted a more pop rock sound for her second studio album, Breakaway (2004).

  • Her first song, “Before Your Love”/”A Moment Like This,” was issued as a double-A-side on September 17, 2002, and it was her debut recording.
