When Jay-Z received the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the Grammy Awards, he addressed the question that was on everyone’s mind: why has Beyoncé never taken home the Album of the Year award?
As he phrased it, “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone else and she has never won Album of the Year.” So even according to your own standards, that is not going to work. Even though they have won the most Grammys, they have never been awarded Album of the Year. That is not going to work.”

A sentiment that is pretty much shared by all of us, including Kelly Rowland, who had a conversation with ET regarding Jay-Z’s speech that took place during the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Los Angeles.
“I feel like she is an icon, and there is a reason for that, and that reason is because she is the one who initiates trends,” Kelly continued. She has a creative mind, her ideas are expansive and brilliant, and she doesn’t hesitate to act on them without hesitation.
The fact that her records are a representation of that is something that I believe ought to be celebrated in a manner that is appropriate. It is not because it is my sister that I am saying it; rather, I am saying it because it is the whole truth.
The blood, sweat, and tears that she puts into these undertakings, as well as her thoughts, her emotions, her passion, and her soul, are all things that I have witnessed.
