  • Byard became the player with the highest annual salary for a safety in the history of the National Football League when, on July 24, 2019, he signed a five-year agreement with the Titans worth $70.5 million with $31 million guaranteed.
  • Byard had two interceptions in the game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17, which the Panthers lost 27–13. During the 2022 season, Byard started each of the 17 games that were played. At the end of the game, he had a total of 108 tackles, 69 of which were solo, four interceptions, and six pass deflections.
  • Byard was sent to the Philadelphia Eagles on October 23, 2023, in exchange for a safety named Terrell Edmunds, a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and a sixth-round pick in the following year’s NFL Draft.
