See the complete list of 2024 Academy Award Oscar nominations

As of today, the nominees for the Academy Awards in 2024 have been released, with “Oppenheimer” leading the charge with 13 nominations, followed by “Poor Things” with 11 nominations.

Following a year that saw the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon of “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan’s epic World War II biopic pack movie theaters around the world, the 96th annual Academy Awards are being held. Both of these films have raked in hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office.

No nomination for best director was given to Greta Gerwig for her work on “Barbie” (both she and Noah Baumbach were nominated for the adapted screenplay of the film), while Margot Robbie, who was also a producer for the film that was nominated for best picture, did not receive a nomination for her acting.

The announcement that was made on Tuesday was not without its share of surprises. “It would be an understatement to say that I am disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories,” said Ryan Gosling, who was included in the nominations for his part as Ken.

In addition, Leonardo DiCaprio, who had previously won an Academy Award for his performance in “Killers of the Flower Moon,” did not earn a nomination for acting this year.
