A mobile home park on the water in Florida was struck by a single-engine plane, which resulted in the deaths of several people and caused damage to the homes.

During a news briefing, the chief of the Clearwater Fire Department, Scott Ehlers, stated, “I can confirm that we have several fatalities both from the aircraft and within the mobile home that the plane crashed into.”

According to the reports that came from the scene, Mr. Ehlers stated that the pilot had passed away, and that one person on the ground had sustained a minor injury but declined to get medical treatment.

The exact number of people who lost their lives as a result of the catastrophe has not yet been determined. It is also unknown how many passengers were on board the Beechcraft Bonanza V35, which was a single-engine aircraft that occurred to crash.

A spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration was quoted by CNN as saying that the aircraft fell into the residential area after the pilot reported that the engine had failed.

When Frances Yont, a witness to the collision, raced out of her home in Clearwater, which is approximately 20 miles west of Tampa, she did so because she could feel the heat from the fire. This information was provided to the CBS affiliate 10 Tampa Bay.

According to what she shared with the outlet, “Everything was popping like propane tanks.” She stated, “We were completely helpless,” and went on to say that “it was a terrible situation.”

Within the mobile home park, the authorities have established that there were four residences that sustained damage.

Due to the fact that a mobile house is not designed to endure much in the first place, the aircraft was able to completely destroy it. According to Mr. Ehlers, the fire devoured the remaining items.

First responders arrived promptly and put out the fire within half an hour, according to a neighbor named Steven Ascari, who posted a video of the incident on social media.

“We heard an explosion outside that shook the entire apartment and next thing you know a giant pillar of smoke was seen,” According to Ascari.
