The criticism that Simone Biles’ husband has received for suggesting that he is the “catch” in the relationship is addressed

It has been made very evident that Jonathan Owens’ relationship with Simone Biles is a golden one.

After addressing the criticism that he has been receiving for declaring that he was the “catch” in his marriage, the NFL player, who tied the knot with the Olympian in April, recently addressed the criticism.

Owens posted his Instagram image from December 21 with the word “Unbothered,” which was accompanied by photographs from his and Biles’ second wedding, which took place in Mexico in May. “Just know we locked in over here.”

To begin, what was it that caused the backlash to occur in the first place? After frankly explaining how he first met Biles during an appearance on “The Pivot” on December 19, the Green Bay Packers player made some comments that caused quite a few people to raise their eyebrows.

The athlete gave the following response to the question posed by the co-host Channing Crowder: “How in the hell did you pull Simone Biles?” Owens said, “It’s really how she pulled me.”

On the dating app Raya, the couple first connected with one another and started dating in August of 2020. While Owens acknowledged that he “didn’t know who she was” when they initially connected, he also mentioned that he “never really paid attention” to gymnastics all along.

Owens quickly came to the realization that the Olympic gold champion was significantly more well-known than he had previously believed.

“The first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of [Instagram] followers,” according to him. “So in my mind I’m like, ‘Okay, she’s gotta be good.'”

It was mentioned by the 28-year-old that they were unable to do a lot of things together because of the widespread coronavirus outbreak.

“She came down to Houston,” Owens, who was playing for the Texans at the time, remembered how she had traveled to Houston. She had to drive for approximately forty-five minutes because she lived in the suburbs. “The rest, as they say, is history.”

Owens responded to a question from his co-host Ryan Clark about whether or not he believed he was the catch by saying, “I always say that the men are the catch.”

“I was fighting it,” he continued speaking. I was hesitant to make a purchase. On the other hand, it occurred when I was least expecting it, and we hung out together, and we did not hesitate to get along.

Before she got married, Biles also shared some information about her connection with Owens, including how she came to the conclusion that he was her all-star.

“I knew he was the one when I first met his mom,” the 26-year-old said in January to Francesca Amiker of E! News. “I knew he was forever.” “She has a little bit of a disability with her walking, she’s gotten a lot stronger, but how he treated his mother and how he treats women, I was like, ‘Wow.'”
