Indian Premier League Auction (2024) – Currently being held in Dubai — witnessed records being broken after Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins were acquired for record breaking rates, becoming the Australian duo the most expensive signings in the history of the league. The tournament is currently being held in Dubai.

Cummins, the national captain of Australia, became the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when Sunrisers Hyderabad acquired him for a sum of ₹20.50 crore.

However, within the span of an hour, his bowling partner Starc was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a staggering amount of ₹24.75 crore, surpassing all previous records.

In the upcoming auction, there are 332 players who are going to be put up for bid in order to fill a maximum of 77 slots at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. The 10 franchises will be responsible for filling these spaces.

There are 332 players, 214 of whom are Indian, and 119 of whom are not from India.
