Suryakumar Yadav Career

In Mumbai, Suryakumar Yadav was a member of the Parsi Gymkhana Cricket Club, where he competed in club cricket. In addition to Parsi Gymkhana, he had played for the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited squad, as well as for other clubs in Mumbai’s club cricket, such as the Shivaji Park Gymkhana Club and the Dadar Union Club. His most recent team was Dadar Union.

He was an experienced and reliable member of the Mumbai Ranji team for many years. In the cricket competition known as the Ranji trophy, he led the Mumbai cricket team for a short while. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) relieved him of his captaincy duties for the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy season, and he was dropped from the team entirely for the 2018–19 season.

However, later on, he was chosen by the selection committee of the MCA and designated as the captain of the team for the 2019-20 competition. He was awarded a contract to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by Mumbai Indians (MI) for the 2012 season. Despite this, he only appeared in a single game throughout the season, and he was taken out before he could score.

He was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL auctions that took place in 2014. In the 2015 edition of the Indian Premier League, he won the game for his team at Eden Gardens by scoring 46 runs off 20 balls, including five sixes. He went on to become the team’s vice captain and was a consistent player for them.

In February of 2021, he was given a spot in India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team in preparation for their matchups against England. His selection to the India cricket team marked his very first appearance in an international competition.

In August 2023, Yadav was selected for the Indian Cricket Team to play against West Indies in one-day internationals (ODIs), and he was also selected as the vice captain for the Indian Cricket Team to play Twenty20 internationals (T20Is). In the third Twenty20 International match, he hit a top knock of 83 runs in 44 balls, and his team went on to win the game that was absolutely essential to their chances of winning the series.
