Zendaya ( born September 1, 1996) is an American actress and singer. Her full name is Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman. She is known simply by her mononym, Zendaya, and has been honored with a number of awards, including a Golden Globe Award and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2022, she was recognized by Time magazine as one of the 100 most important individuals all over the world.

When She first started out in the entertainment industry, she was a fashion model for retailers such as Macy’s, Mervyns, and Old Navy. She was highlighted in a commercial for iCarly toys. In addition, she was included as a backup dancer in a commercial for Sears that starred the Disney star Selena Gomez. She appeared as a featured performer in the music video for Kidz Bop’s cover of “Hot n Cold” by Katy Perry, which was released in 2009 on Kidz Bop 15 and was featured on the album of the same name.
In the month of November 2009, she participated in an audition for the part of CeCe Jones in the Disney sitcom Shake It Up, which was at the time titled Dance Dance Chicago.
