Puka Nacua – Makea “Puka” Nacua is an American football wide receiver currently playing for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. Nacua was born on May 29, 2001. Both Washington and BYU had him on their football teams while he was in college.
He spent his childhood in Provo, Utah, and went to high school in Orem, also located in Utah. After completing his high school career, Nacua finished with 260 receptions, 5,226 receiving yards, and 58 receiving touchdowns. Each of these accomplishments set new records for the state of Utah.

Puka Nacua Family, Relationship and Afair
Nacua is the son of Penina Nacua, who is his mother, and Lionel Nacua, who is his father.
Samson, Nacua’s older brother, is also a wide receiver for the BYU football team.
He played previously for the University of Utah before making the move to BYU at the same time that Puka did from Washington. Samson was not selected in the draft and played for the Indianapolis Colts for a while.
Kai Nacua, another older brother, played defensive back for BYU and later in the National Football League (NFL). He is a member of the United States Football League (USFL) team known as the Michigan Panthers at the moment.

Puka Nacua Career
- The University of Washington was where Nacua got his start in college. Before breaking his foot, he participated in the first eight games of his freshman season. During that time, he caught seven passes for a total of 168 yards and scored two scores.
- In the three games that were played during the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season for the team, Nacua recorded nine receptions for 151 yards and one touchdown. After the conclusion of the season, he registered for the transfer portal with the NCAA.
- During the 2023 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams picked up Nacua in the fifth round, giving them the 177th overall pick in the draft.
- On September 10, 2023, the Rams faced their divisional rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, and Nacua was given the opportunity to start for the Rams for the first time. The Rams were coming off of an injury-plagued 2022 season, and the team was without its standout receiver Cooper Kupp, who had been sidelined with a hamstring ailment.
- As a result, the Seahawks were considered heavy favorites to win the game. In spite of this, Nacua was a powerful component of the team’s attack. In his first game, the Rams defeated the Seahawks by a score of 30–13, and Nacua had 10 receptions for 119 yards.
- Nacua caught 15 passes for 147 yards in his second game, which was a loss to the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 30–23. This performance set a new record for the most catches in a single game by a rookie in NFL history.
- The 25 catches that he had in his first two games set another rookie record, beating Earl Cooper’s 43-year-old mark of 19. Additionally, he became the first player in NFL history to record more than 10 catches and more than 100 yards in each of his first two games in the league.
