Colin Jost – Colin Kelly Jost is a stand-up comedian, writer, and actor who was born in the United States on June 29, 1982. Since 2005, Jost has worked as a member of the writing team for the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. Since 2014, he has also served as a co-anchor for the show Weekend Update.
Additionally, he was one of the show’s co-head writers from the years 2012 to 2015, and he returned to the show in 2017 to serve as one of the show’s head writers alongside Michael Che for the years 2017 until 2022.

Colin Jost Career
- After receiving his degree, Jost began his career in journalism at the Staten Island Advance, where he held the positions of reporter and copy editor. After that, he was hired as a writer for an animated show on Nickelodeon called Kappa Mikey, which lasted for only a few seasons.
- Following his departure from that role, he submitted a writing packet to NBC’s Saturday Night Live, and the show ultimately offered him a spot as a writer in the year 2005.
- Jost served as the writing supervisor for SNL from 2009 until 2012. Between the years 2012 and 2015, he held the position of co-head writer, and between 2017 and 2022, he held that position once again.                                                                      Â
- Later on, Jost surpassed Meyers’ record to become the longest anchor in the annals of the segment’s history. This occurred on the episode that was hosted by Jason Sudeikis on October 23, 2021.
- Jost has been employed in a variety of comedic roles during the course of his career. He has appeared as a stand-up comic on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, TBS, and HBO, among other television programs.
- Since being honored with the title of “New Face” at the Just for Laughs festival in Montréal in 2009, he has gone on to perform at the Chicago Just for Laughs festival in 2011 and 2012, as well as the Just for Laughs festival in Montréal in 2010 and 2012.
- In January of 2016, Jost served as the opening act for the album recording that was being done by comedian Liam McEneaney at The Bell House in Brooklyn. In the latter half of 2018, Jost and Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, starred in an advertising campaign for the brand Izod.
- On the episode of WWE’s Monday Night Raw that aired on March 4, 2019, both Michael Che and Jost appeared on the show. During their appearances, they were both revealed as special correspondents for WrestleMania 35.
- A memoir written by Jost and titled A Very Punchable Face: A Memoir was published in July of 2020. The book was warmly appreciated, and it was included on the bestseller list of The New York Times.
