Katya Jones – Katya Jones, whose birth name is Ekaterina Andreevna Sokolova and whose Russian name is EkaTepNHa AHApeeBHa CokonoBa, is a Russian dancer and choreographer. She was born on May 12, 1989. She gained the most notoriety for her performance as a professional dancer on the British version of the dancing competition show Strictly Come Dancing, which she and her dance partner Joe McFadden won in 2017.
In the 2020 season, Jones was paired with the former professional boxer and Olympic champion Nicola Adams. This made the pair the first same-sex couple to compete in the format of the UK tournament.

Katya Jones Career
- In 2016, Jones competed as a professional ballroom dancer on the British television show Strictly Come Dancing, which was then in its 14th season. Jones worked closely with Ed Balls, a former candidate for the position of Shadow Chancellor.
- Jones competed in the 15th series of the show with her partner, the actor Joe McFadden from Holby City, and they ended up winning the competition. During the 16th season, Jones competed alongside the comedian Seann Walsh. During the 17th season, she competed alongside the BBC sports broadcaster Mike Bushell.                                                     Â
- She was a part of the show’s first same-sex partnership for the 18th series, which was with the professional boxer Nicola Adams. On November 12th, after Jones received a positive test result for COVID-19, the team decided to withdraw from the tournament. During the 19th series, she competed alongside the Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty as her partner.
- During the series 20 competition, she was paired with the former manager and player for England, Tony Adams. Due to Tony incurring a hamstring injury during his original performance, they decided to withdraw from the competition at the week 8 results show.
- Jones participated in the 19th series of Strictly Come Dancing beginning in September 2021. Jones’ dance partner for the competition was Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty. They made it to week 7, finishing in ninth place.
- Jones began competing in the 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing in September 2022. Her dance partner for the competition was Tony Adams, who had previously captained the England men’s association football team. They were revealed to be one of the two couples eliminated during week 8 of the competition.
- They did not participate in the dance-off, however, since Tony suffered a hamstring injury that forced him to withdraw from the competition. This caused them to sit out the competition. Because of this, Jones made history on the show by becoming the first professional dancer to have a partner who had to withdraw twice.
