Rod Wave – Rodarius Marcell Green, better known by his stage name, Rod Wave, was born in the United States on August 27, 1998. He is a rapper and a vocalist. Green, who is a member of the Alamo Records roster and is renowned for his powerful voice as well as the fusion of hip hop and R&B, has been acknowledged as a pioneer of the genre known as “soul-trap.”
Green first gained widespread attention in 2019 with the release of his single “Heart on Ice,” which quickly became popular on platforms such as YouTube and TikTok and peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Rod Wave Career
- The year 2016 marked the beginning of Wave’s career, which he kicked off with the publication of his mixtape titled “Hunger Games Vol. 1.” Before he signed with Alamo Records, he had already released many mixtapes independently under his own name.
- It was on his mixtape PTSD, which was published on June 14, 2019, that the song “Heart on Ice” was included. The song became extremely popular on TikTok and YouTube, reaching its highest position on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 25.
- Pray 4 Love is the title of Rod Wave’s second studio album, which was released on April 3, 2020. It made its debut on the Billboard 200 at position number two, and a deluxe edition of the album was released on August 7.                                                              Â
- On March 6, 2021, he presented the whole track listing for his album titled SoulFly. The song “Street Runner” and the song “Tombstone,” his best-charting hit, both appear on the album. “Tombstone” reached its highest position on the Hot 100 at number 11.
- Wave’s publication of the song “Nirvana” in late 2021 sparked some controversy, as many people misunderstood the song to be a suicide letter, despite the fact that Wave refuted this interpretation.
- The song “Cold December” was released as a single by Wave in January of 2022. On May 1, 2022, he published a freestyle over Future’s song “Wait for U” in which he announced that the title of his upcoming album would be Beautiful Mind and that he had delivered the album on April 25, 2022.
- He also stated that he had turned in the album on that day. The album was made available to the public on August 12th, 2022.
- Following the release of their record, Wave made the decision to embark on a tour. His tour started in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 11th, 2022. Wave completed his tour of the United States on December 21, 2022 in Seattle, Washington, after going all the way across the country.
- Jupiter’s Diary: 7 Day Theory was the title of an extended play that was released by Rod Wave on the 18th of November, 2022. The extended play only has eight different tunes. The song “Break My Heart” from the project was able to make it all the way up to number 76 on the Billboard charts.
- Nostalgia was the sixth studio album that Rod Wave released, and it was released on September 15, 2023.

Rachel George of ABC News Radio made the observation that “music is a direct expression of Wave’s life,” which is why “he’s cautious yet open to working with other artists who share his passion,” she said.
