Andre Iguodala Career
- Iguodala was chosen by the Philadelphia 76ers in the ninth spot of the overall draft of the NBA in the year 2004. When Iguodala was selected, Dick Vitale said that it was a mistake for the Sixers to take him.
- Iguodala, who has established himself as a mainstay in the starting lineup for the 76ers, was the only member of the team to participate in and start all 82 games during his second season. Iguodala was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Rookie Challenge on February 17, 2006, as a result of his 30-point performance in the Sophomores victory.                          Â
- It was anticipated that the 76ers would improve upon their performance in the previous season when they entered the 2010–11 NBA campaign. Doug Collins was hired as the new head coach of the Sixers after Eddie Jordan was let go.
- In addition, the Philadelphia 76ers obtained Andrés Nocioni from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for the experienced big man Samuel Dalembert, who was sent to Sacramento in exchange for the younger center Spencer Hawes. When the Sixers selected Evan Turner with the second overall pick in the draft, they caused quite a stir by making this move.
- In a sequence of trades that took place on August 10, 2012, Iguodala was one of the players who was sent to the Denver Nuggets from the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Orlando Magic.
- Iguodala set a new career best with 20 points scored against the Memphis Grizzlies on November 11, 2015, helping the Warriors get off to a perfect 9–0 start to the season. The Warriors’ record-setting start in the NBA came to an end on December 12 when they were defeated by the Milwaukee Bucks by a score of 108–95.
- Iguodala was sent to the Memphis Grizzlies along with a protected first-round draft pick on July 7, 2019, as part of the transaction that sent Julian Washburn to the Golden State Warriors. In exchange for their player, the Warriors were given a traded player exception.
- Iguodala remained a member of the Heat in a reserve capacity during the 2020–21 season. Following the conclusion of the season, Miami decided not to exercise their option to pay him $15 million for the 2021–22 season, which resulted in him becoming a free agent.
- Iguodala was only able to play in eight games before he fractured his left wrist while playing against the Phoenix Suns. This injury required surgery. Iguodala made the announcement that he would be retiring from the NBA on October 20, 2023, after having played in the league for 19 seasons.
