Sofía Vergara – Sofi Margarita Vergara Vergara is a Colombian and American actress and television personality. She was born on July 10, 1972 in both Colombia and the United States. Co-hosting two television series in the late 1990s for the Spanish-language television network Univision helped propel her to the forefront of the entertainment industry.
Her debut in a role of note in an English-language production came in the film Chasing Papi (2003). After that, she had roles in Tyler Perry’s comedies Madea Goes to Jail (2009) and Meet the Browns (2008), for which she was nominated for an ALMA Award. She debuted in the 2005 film Four Brothers.

Vergara was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, to parents who were devout Roman Catholics. Her mother, Margarita Vergara de Vergara, was a homemaker, while her father, Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo, was a cattle rancher for the meat industry. Margarita Vergara de Vergara was a homemaker.

- While Vergara was strolling along a beach in Colombia, she was captured by a photographer, and shortly afterward, she was inundated with offers of work in the television and modeling industries.
- The young woman was “apprehensive about doing her first television commercial—until her Catholic schoolteachers gave her their personal permission to take the assignment.”
